Trump Normalizes Corruption – Can we Join in?

Of course, it is only one of his massive numbers of Scams, but the level of corruption in having a Political Leader creating Fake Money (didn’t they call that counterfeiting in the past? or Fraud when you sold things to people who then lost money?) i s off the charts. AND, it doesn’t just affect a few people.

Americans and others look at the Admin and think “Well, if he can do it, so can I”. In other words, any level of crime, fraud or corruption which he can openly do is – to quote Richard Nixon “if the President does it, that makes it legal”.

There are so many examples of this – almost countless. If he can create fake charities, can’t we all? If he can cheat on his taxes, shouldn’t we all follow the example? It eats away at the very core of what holds the USA together – the very basics of ethics and morality.

Instead of explaining things that are already evident, let me point this post to an NPR discussion of Corruption and our Normalization of it. I am old enough to assure our dear readers that even 1/100th of the fraud and pocket-lining being done now…in the past….would have forced Politicians to resign or worse.

It’s almost a surety that, after Trump, some people will instantly get “moral” again….but it’s too late for that. The standards are set. Short of laws that make the punishment MUCH greater than the crime, we aren’t going to change. The USA has become one big grift and many citizens seem to know or sense this.

Crime pays.
